Associate Professor Alexandra George nominated for 'Legal Academic of the Year'

CIBEL is proud to announce that one of our members Associate Professor Alexandra George is a finalist in the annual Women Lawyers Achievements Awards. Alexandra has been nominated for the title of ‘Legal Academic of the Year’ alongside four professionals from a range of universities across New South Wales.

Alexandra’s work and research focusses on international intellectual property and the philosophy of intellectual property. She examines issues of jurisdiction and enforcement within the realm of international intellectual property law, alongside philosophical concepts surrounding the metaphysics and structure of intellectual property law. You can read Alexandra’s original theory in her book Constructing Intellectual Property (Cambridge University Press, 2012).

Alexandra is an active member of the CIBEL team. She has a substantial interest in Chinese intellectual property law and contributes her work to our research and events. She spoke at the inaugural Tsinghua-UNSW Joint Research Centre for International Commercial and Economic Law (JCICEL) Conference hosted by CIBEL in September 2020.
